How does it work?
-
Join ANNE with your phone number and other basic information. Privacy settings allow you to control what others see.
-
Receive at least two phone numbers for people close by. Others will receive your phone number. In the event of an emergency, someone may call you and it is your responsibility to pass along any information by calling your numbers.
-
If you need help in an emergency, you can call your numbers. Always call 911 first.
-
ANNE will contact you occasionally to confirm that you are still participating and to give you new phone numbers if we've had to adjust your local network.
When will it be available in my area?
-
You may sign up for ANNE immediately. ANNE's network will be activated for your neighborhood as soon as enough people have signed up for ANNE to form a helpful network.
- Help us spread the word. Tell your friends, colleagues, and neighbors about ANNE.
-
Once enough people have signed up in your area, we will send you an email with additional information.
What does ANNE do?
- ANNE adapts the network when people join or leave, optimizing the structure to be as useful and helpful as possible.
- ANNE builds your local network with two main goals in mind:
- Communication - Information makes it to everyone as quickly as possible.
- Coordination - The people you call live nearby. You can work together to solve problems or find help.
* Phone and SMS charges still apply, but ANNE itself is completely free.
